Tabs with a twist – rkSmartTab

SmartTabs in use

SmartTabs in use

Here is a new component of mine, rkSmartTabs. Its a simple but easy to use tab bar component. It was made for my explorer application but I guess others might find it usefull too. I do not have a demo yet but you can download an early beta of my explorer to see and and get a feel for how it works. rkSmartTabs is rendered using GDI+ so you must make it available for Delphi. Hope you find it useful. Feedback is always welcome.

    Hi Steve,

Yeah the demo is a little unfinished if you want to see my current version contact me and I send it to you.

I will try, if time, permit to make a short demo with source available.

    Really nice component.

Do you plan on implementing Chrome-like animations when dragging and opening / closing tabs?

  • admin

    Hi Simon,

Well I would like to, but animations are not my strong side. When I get time I will try to make something work but this is low priority.

    Hi Roy,
Great job. Your components are great.
2 things that I would suggest:
    - Please add in your GDI+ distribution a more updated JEDI.INC file (for example you can find it at jcl-2.1.1.3536). The reason is to avoid compilation errors on D2010.
    - Your VistaPanel component is under the tool palette Samples and all other components are under rmklever ;-)

    Thank you,

Will correct it, maybe you could send me the correct jcl include file. I do not use JCL myself so I dont think I have that file.

    Hi,

I have not made available any demos of the component yet. I hope getting something done this week. But it is very simple to work with. What are you looking for in a demo?

    Thank you for kind words.

    Is there a “TrkSmartView” component?
The demo can't run on WinXP/2K.

  • admin

Yes there is a TrkSmartView component which is basicly a rkView with group support. I have not yet made it available but might do so later.
